TidyHQ vs Givebacks
Last reviewed August 2026
Givebacks β formerly MemberHub β is the closest thing on this list to a real overlap, because it genuinely does membership as well as fundraising. It is also built almost entirely around one context: US K-12 schools, PTAs, PTOs, booster clubs, and the state PTA hierarchy those units remit dues up to. That focus is a strength if you are a PTA and a wall if you are not. TidyHQ wins on governance, Xero (coming soon), and working for clubs and associations of any kind, in any country.
Where TidyHQ wins
Fit outside the US school system. Givebacks is designed around PTAs, PTOs, booster clubs and school districts; TidyHQ runs sporting clubs, professional associations, community groups, arts organisations and federations. Governance Givebacks doesn't cover: agendas, minutes with action items, committee tasks by role, 25 GB of document storage. Xero integration coming soon rather than a US accounting stack. Flat pricing with a genuine free tier β Givebacks Pro is $499 USD/year and Premium $599 USD/year unless a state PTA is covering it for you. And support in Australian hours.
Where Givebacks wins
For a US PTA, Givebacks is hard to beat and TidyHQ isn't pretending otherwise. Online member join with dues remittance straight up to the state PTA is built into the product, which removes a genuinely painful annual job. Many state PTAs provide it to their local units free of charge, which makes the cost argument moot. The rewards programme β cashback on family spending that flows back to the unit β is passive fundraising most platforms have no answer to, and student activity fee collection is purpose-built for schools.
Best for
Clubs, associations and community organisations outside the US K-12 school ecosystem β and any organisation that needs committee governance, AGM records and Xero alongside membership and fundraising.

Key differences
Your organisation is probably not a PTA
Givebacks is built around US K-12 schools β state PTA dues remittance, student activity fees, booster clubs, district reporting. If that is your world, it fits beautifully. If you are a football club in Geelong, a professional association in Manchester or a surf club in Auckland, almost none of that applies and a lot of the product surface is dead weight.
The committee work is the other half of the job
Givebacks covers supporter management, storefront, fundraising and communications. It does not cover agendas, minutes with action items, committee tasks assigned to roles, or document storage for constitutions and AGM records. For an incorporated association with statutory meeting obligations, that half is not optional.
Xero, not a US accounting stack
Givebacks is built for US organisations and its financial tooling reflects that. TidyHQ's Xero integration is coming soon and is two-way β the package most Australian, New Zealand and UK treasurers already use.
One product for a whole federation
Givebacks handles the school district and its units. TidyConnect sits above whatever your affiliated clubs already use and federates their data without forcing every club to migrate β which is the shape most state and national sporting bodies actually need.
What Givebacks does well

Online member join with dues remittance straight up to the state PTA is built into the product, which removes a genuinely painful annual job. We think honest comparisons build more trust than pretending competitors donβt exist. Try both and see which one your committee actually uses.
Ongoing development
We have shipped every month since 2008.
The software you pick now is a bet on where it will be in three years, and no feature table tells you that. We have been building TidyHQ for eighteen years, across more than 30,000 commits. The public record is dated and checkable: 15 new features and 52 updates since November 2025 alone, the most recent on 24 July 2026.
Some of what landed
We have not tried to summarise Givebacksβs release history here, because we do not have reliable data on it and would rather not guess. Go and look for their changelog too. If a vendor cannot show you what they shipped last quarter, that is worth knowing before you sign anything.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions about using Givebacks vs TidyHQ for membership organisations.
Yes. MemberHub rebranded as Givebacks, and many state PTA websites still refer to it as "Givebacks (formerly MemberHub)". The product line kept its PTA and PTO focus through the change, adding a storefront, point of sale, ticketed events and a cashback rewards programme.
Givebacks is built for the US K-12 school ecosystem β PTAs, PTOs, booster clubs and school districts β and its membership, dues remittance and compliance features are shaped around that. Clubs and associations in Australia, New Zealand and the UK are not the intended audience. TidyHQ is Australian-built and used by clubs, associations and federations across AU, NZ, UK and the US.
Givebacks Pro is $499 USD/year and Premium is $599 USD/year, with custom Partner pricing for school districts. Many state PTAs provide it free to their local units. Platform fees vary by transaction type β 1.05% + 65c on store and point-of-sale sales, 0% on direct donations, and either 0% (tip model) or 7.5% (percent model) on fundraisers, plus Stripe processing at 2.9% + 30c. TidyHQ Pro is $890 AUD/year flat with a 1% + 20c service fee and a permanent free plan.
No. Givebacks covers supporter management, storefront, fundraising, communications and compliance reporting, but there are no agendas, minutes, action items, committee tasks or governance document storage. TidyHQ includes all of them, with 25 GB of storage for constitutions, policies and AGM records.
Committee governance β agendas, minutes with action items and role-based tasks β plus income categorised across dues, banquet tickets, raffle sales, concession revenue, grants and donations, and Xero integration coming soon. TidyHQ also has a permanent free plan with unlimited contacts and unlimited admin seats, so a small booster club can run properly without a subscription at all.
For a US PTA staying inside the school ecosystem, Cheddar Up handles the collections and Givebutter handles the fundraising, though neither remits dues to a state PTA the way Givebacks does. If you are not a PTA β a sporting club, professional association or community group β the comparison to make is with membership platforms rather than school fundraising tools, and TidyHQ covers memberships, subs, finances and committee governance in one place. Outside the United States, Givebacks is not really an option.
