Tickets now belong to the person attending

A ticket now belongs to the person going, not just whoever paid. Details pre-fill, and member pricing follows the attendee rather than the credit card.

Until now, an event order was tied to whoever bought it. Fine when people book for themselves. Less fine the rest of the time, which is most of the time, because in club land one parent books for four kids and a grandparent.

Each ticket is now connected to the person actually attending. Two things fall out of that. Registration questions pre-fill from that person’s contact record, so nobody re-types their kid’s dietary requirements for the ninth time this season. And eligibility follows the attendee: Evan, who is not a member, can buy a member-only ticket for his son Thomas, who is. That one has been asked for a lot.

After checkout you get a real picture of who is coming rather than a list of payers. Cancelling and restoring tickets is handled better too, with capacity checked before a restored ticket goes back in.

Both the buyer and the attendees are added to the event’s contact group, so whoever needs to know the ground has changed actually gets the email. Guest checkout works much as it did.
