For the Members Who Do Not Do Credit Cards
Not every member is comfortable paying by credit card online. Older demographics, in particular, prefer bank transfers. The problem: bank transfers require manual reconciliation. The treasurer checks the bank account, matches each deposit to an invoice, and updates the records.
BPay solves this. The member pays through their internet banking using the BPay biller code and reference number. The payment is automatically matched to the correct invoice in TidyHQ. No manual reconciliation.
How It Works
When a member receives an invoice from TidyHQ, it includes a BPay biller code and a unique customer reference number. The member logs into their internet banking, selects BPay, enters the biller code and reference, and pays.
TidyHQ receives notification of the payment and automatically marks the invoice as paid. The receipt is sent. Xero is updated.
The treasurer's involvement: none.
Why BPay Matters for Australian Clubs
BPay is deeply embedded in Australian banking habits. Millions of Australians use it weekly for bills and payments. It is familiar, trusted, and requires no credit card.
For clubs with older members, BPay removes the barrier to online payment. Members who were writing cheques or transferring money with free-text references can now pay in a way that is familiar and automatically reconciled.
Available Now
BPay is available as a payment option on all TidyHQ plans. Enable it in your payment settings. Your next invoice will include BPay details alongside your other payment options.
