Sport Manitoba

Community Places
Manitoba's Community Places programme funds the construction, renovation, and improvement of community facilities - including arenas, sports fields, and multi-use recreation buildings.

Provincial funding programmes
Building Sustainable Communities (BSC). A provincial programme that funds community infrastructure projects, including recreation facilities. Grants are administered through regional development corporations.
Green Team. While not a sport-specific programme, Green Team provides wage subsidies for youth employment in community organisations. If your club needs summer help for facility maintenance or programme delivery, Green Team can fund the position.
Community foundations
The Winnipeg Foundation. One of the oldest and largest community foundations in Canada, managing over $1 billion in assets. They fund youth development, health, and community programming - including sport and recreation. If your club operates in Winnipeg, this should be among your first grant applications.
Brandon Area Community Foundation, Thompson Community Foundation, and regional foundations. All fund community programming in their areas.
Municipal grants
The City of Winnipeg and other Manitoba municipalities run community grant programmes. Winnipeg's Community Services Department administers grants for not-for-profit organisations serving city residents.
