Key takeaways
- TidyHQ Announcements is a TidyConnect feature that lets a peak body or state sporting body send announcements to its affiliated organisations, and it is available to enterprise customers rather than on standard club plans.
- Since March 2026, a TidyHQ announcement can be scheduled for a set date and time in the sending organisation's time zone instead of being shared immediately.
- A TidyHQ announcement can be shared with selected organisations, an organisation group, or all affiliated organisations, and can require one acknowledgement per organisation by a due date.
- Affiliated clubs choose which of their roles receive each announcement category, and categories they have not assigned fall back to the club's primary administrator.
- Each published TidyHQ announcement has an engagement view showing how many organisations were targeted, the response rate, and which organisations are still pending or overdue.
It is the Thursday before round one. The state bodyâs competitions officer has a reminder about updated concussion protocols that has to reach every affiliated club before the weekend. She also has a grants round opening on Monday, and she knows from experience that if she sends it on Friday afternoon it will be buried under fixture emails by Saturday morning. So she writes the grants one now, and sets a reminder on her phone to send it on Monday. Then Monday gets away from her.
Announcements in TidyHQ picked up proper scheduling in March 2026, along with clearer control over which club roles receive which categories, and better reporting on who has actually read and acknowledged what.
Who is Announcements for?
Announcements is part of TidyConnect, for peak bodies, state sporting bodies and associations that send communications to their affiliated organisations. It is organisation-to-organisation: the state body talks to the committees of its clubs, and clubs receive those announcements inside their own TidyHQ.
It is available to enterprise customers and is still being actively developed. It is not a member newsletter tool. To email your own members, use Communications.
Can I schedule an announcement to go out later?
Yes. When you create an announcement, you can choose Schedule instead of Share Now, pick a date and time, and TidyHQ publishes it for you at that moment. The time is in your organisationâs time zone, which is shown beside the time box, so a body in Perth and one in Hobart both get what they typed.
Until it goes out, a scheduled announcement shows as Scheduled in your list, with the date it will publish. You can still edit it. Changed your mind entirely? Set To Draft takes it off the schedule and back to a draft, and nothing is sent.
That means the grants reminder for Monday morning can be written on Thursday, checked by the CEO on Friday, and left alone.
How do I make sure it reaches the right person at each club?
Use communication categories. The peak body sets up categories such as Finance or Compliance, and each announcement is tagged with one or more of them. Each affiliated club then decides, in its Communication Preferences, which of its roles should receive each category. Finance announcements to the treasurer, compliance notices to the secretary and the child safety officer.
If a club has not assigned a category to anyone, that category falls back to the clubâs primary administrator. Nothing disappears into a gap, but it may land with someone who has to forward it on, so it is worth each club spending five minutes on its preferences.
When you create an announcement you choose who gets an email about it: everyone at the organisations you are targeting, only the roles subscribed to the categories you pick, only each organisationâs primary administrator, or nobody (the announcement sits in their feed without an email).
How to set it up
- Open Announcements in your TidyHQ admin and click Create Announcement.
- Write the title and message, and add any links or attachments.
- Under Share with, choose selected organisations, an organisation group, or all organisations.
- Under Response, choose No response or Acknowledgement required. For an acknowledgement, set the checkbox wording and a due date.
- Under Notifications, choose who is emailed.
- At the bottom, switch from Share Now to Schedule, set the date and time, and click Schedule.
There is no help article for Announcements yet. If you are a TidyConnect customer and get stuck, TidyHQ support can walk you through it.
How do I know whether clubs have read it?
Open the announcement and click View Engagement. It shows how many organisations and people were targeted, the response rate, and which organisations are still pending. For an acknowledgement announcement, anyone past the due date shows as overdue.
Acknowledgements are counted per organisation. The first person at a club to tick the box records it for the whole club, so you are not waiting on six committee members from the same club. That keeps the follow-up list honest: the clubs still on it are the ones to phone.
On the club side, people can filter their announcements to the ones meant for their role, and see which ones they have and have not read.
What it doesnât do yet
It is organisation-to-organisation only, as above. Scheduling is for publishing; there is no recurring schedule, so a monthly reminder is still twelve separate announcements. And because it lives in TidyConnect, a standalone club on a standard plan will not see it.
This was one round of improvements to a feature that is still moving. Further changes will be listed in the changelog.

Don't miss these

Sharing policies and files from a peak body to every affiliated club
Peak bodies can share Storage folders with their affiliated clubs, read-only. Folders can now hold links to documents hosted elsewhere, and clubs see shared folders in their sidebar even if they have never added the Storage app.

The new Xero integration splits Stripe payouts by category
Our rebuilt Xero integration is now self-serve on the Pro plan. Each Stripe payout lands in Xero already split across your accounts, so the treasurer can see how much was memberships and how much was the trivia night.

Filter and sort your club's transactions, for the treasurer
Transactions in Finances now has proper filters and sorting. Find every unreconciled canteen deposit, one family's payments or last month's refunds, and export exactly that list to CSV.
