About GameDay
GameDay is a Melbourne sports technology company, established in 1999, with offices in Cremorne, Auckland and Manchester. Its own line is “Sport runs on GameDay”, and the job it describes is the one a governing body has: membership, competitions, ecommerce, websites and custom apps for the organisations that run sport, from grassroots clubs to national governing bodies. GameDay says that each year its platform registers 1.1 million participants, manages 18,000 competitions, generates 900,000 fixtures and is used by 17,000 active administrators.
Most clubs meet GameDay through rego and the draw. Its competition management covers more than 20 sports and runs home-and-away leagues, pool-based tournaments and knockout finals, with automated fixtures, finals eligibility, player points, digital team sheets, and results and ladders that publish to the web and the GameDay App. Live scoring works from a phone or tablet, online or offline, with access keys so officials sign off the final result. On the membership and registrations side, GameDay runs custom registration forms, duplicate detection, clearances, transfers and permits, and Stripe payments with instalments, splitting one payment across national, state and club fees. It also does events and ticketing with QR tickets by email, app or phone wallet, shops on BigCommerce, auctions and raffles, custom websites, app builds, and match official appointments through Schedula.
The sports bodies GameDay names include Football Australia, Baseball Australia, the Rugby Football League in the UK, Basketball New Zealand, Athletics New Zealand, Hong Kong Rugby Union and Hockey Ireland. Baseball Australia signed a multi-year national partnership in 2023, building on GameDay’s work with Baseball Victoria and Baseball NSW. In August 2026, Leinster Hockey moved its competitions, membership and umpire appointments onto GameDay for more than 40 clubs and 90 schools. Closer to home, the Picola & District Football Netball League has run its football on GameDay since 2008, across 15 clubs in northern Victoria and southern New South Wales.
Clubs may remember GameDay under another name. It traded as SportsTG until March 2021, when its products were brought together under the GameDay brand. Stack Sports bought the business in June 2017, and Stack combined with PlayMetrics in 2025. On 1 October 2026 GameDay announced that it had returned to Australian ownership under DELE Sports, effective 31 July 2026, with Daniel Smith as chief executive. Earlier in 2026 it released a rebuilt GameDay App, with fixtures, live scores, push notifications and admin tools for searching members and sending club announcements from a phone.
The partnership
GameDay runs the sport. TidyHQ runs the club. A governing body on GameDay holds the registrations, clearances, draw, results and ladders, which gives it one view of who is playing in every club and association. The club still has a second set of jobs that sit outside the competition: the committee meeting, the AGM, the volunteer roster, sponsors, social and life members, the presentation night, and the club’s own money. TidyHQ is built for those. The two are connected: a club or association admin can switch on TidyHQ from the GameDay Marketplace, and member records then flow one way, from GameDay Passport into TidyHQ, so nobody types the playing list in twice. And a TidyHQ account belongs to the club, not to the governing body. If a state body uses TidyConnect to collect affiliation or compliance information, it sees only what the club accepts into that project.
- GameDay and TidyHQ have a native integration. Club and association admins connect from the TidyHQ tile in the GameDay Marketplace, following GameDay’s setup guide, and player and member records sync into TidyHQ. See how the GameDay integration works.
- Clubs and associations that register and play through GameDay use TidyHQ for club operations: committee meetings and AGMs, volunteer tasks, social events and fundraisers, member emails, and club finances.
- Mutual customers are supported on both sides: GameDay for registrations, competitions, live scoring and the governing body’s setup; TidyHQ for the club’s own members, money and committee work. TidyHQ does not build competition software, and points sports bodies that need it to platforms like GameDay.
Where GameDay ends and TidyHQ starts
A state body on GameDay that wanted more than the playing list
GameDay has delivered membership and competition management for Baseball Victoria for years, and Baseball Australia took it national in 2023. In February 2026, Baseball Victoria also gave every affiliated club and winter association free TidyHQ access for 19 months, to carry the off-field work between the state body and its clubs: child safety coordinators, compliance tasks, two-way communication. Rego and the season stay in GameDay. Read why Baseball Victoria backed its clubs with TidyHQ.
Rego opens, and the registrar only does it once
A junior football club’s players register through GameDay, with clearances and permits approved inside the platform and the national, state and club fees split in one payment. The registrar switches on the TidyHQ tile in the GameDay Marketplace, and the playing list arrives in TidyHQ. Then the people GameDay doesn’t register get added around them: social members, life members, sponsors, the parents on the canteen roster. Financial members carry a membership card in Apple or Google Wallet that updates when they renew.
The treasurer’s month in one Xero file
GameDay’s Xero integration (in beta) records each net settlement payout from registrations as a journal entry against the ledgers the treasurer picks. The rest of the club’s money comes through TidyHQ: sponsor invoices, social memberships, quiz night tickets, the end-of-season trip. TidyHQ reconciles those payments to Xero as well. Before the committee meeting, the treasurer opens one Xero file instead of three exports and a spreadsheet.
Finals day is the league’s. Presentation night is the club’s.
GameDay applies finals eligibility and player points across the season, and the league can sell finals-day entry through GameDay ticketing, with QR codes scanned at the gate. A month later, the club runs its own presentation night in TidyHQ: tickets with member pricing, invitations emailed to members, families and sponsors, and the takings reconciled at the end of the night. The awards come from the competition. The night belongs to the club.
A hockey club when its province moves platforms
When Leinster Hockey moved onto GameDay for the 2026/27 season, its clubs gained one registration and login across national and provincial hockey, with fixtures, results and umpire appointments in one place. None of that changes what the club committee has to do on a Tuesday night. A club in that position keeps its agendas, minutes and AGM papers in TidyHQ, with the next committee able to find them after the handover. When the platform above the club changes, the club’s own records stay put.
Common questions
GameDay is a Melbourne sports technology company, founded in 1999, whose platform runs membership and registrations, competition management, live scoring, events and ticketing, online shops and auctions, websites and custom apps for sports organisations. It was previously called SportsTG and rebranded to GameDay in 2021. Its website is mygameday.app, and administrators log in to the platform through GameDay Passport.
GameDay is used by national and state governing bodies, leagues, associations and grassroots clubs in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, Europe and Asia. The organisations it names include Football Australia, Baseball Australia, the Rugby Football League, Basketball New Zealand, Athletics New Zealand, Hong Kong Rugby Union, Hockey Ireland and, from 2026, Leinster Hockey. GameDay says it registers 1.1 million participants and manages 18,000 competitions a year.
GameDay is owned by DELE Sports, an Australian company, which acquired it from PlayMetrics effective 31 July 2026; the sale was announced on 1 October 2026, with Daniel Smith appointed chief executive. GameDay had been part of Stack Sports since June 2017, and Stack Sports combined with PlayMetrics in 2025. GameDay says the change is business as usual for customers, with the same team and platform.
Yes. GameDay and TidyHQ have a native integration that club and association admins switch on from the TidyHQ tile in the GameDay Marketplace inside GameDay Passport. Once connected, player and member records sync from GameDay into TidyHQ, so the club does not re-enter its playing list. The sync runs one way, from GameDay to TidyHQ, and it is available to organisations at club or association and league level.
GameDay handles the registration a sport needs to let people play: competition entries, clearances, national and state fees, and the playing list. A club has a second set of jobs outside the competition: committee meetings and AGMs, volunteer rosters, sponsors, social and life members, club events, member emails, and the club’s own finances. TidyHQ is built for those. Most clubs keep playing registrations in GameDay and run the club itself in TidyHQ.
No. A TidyHQ account belongs to the club, not to the governing body. Your state or national body sees the registration and competition data it holds in GameDay, but it cannot see your club’s TidyHQ members, finances, communications, events or documents. If a peak body uses TidyConnect to collect affiliation or compliance information, it sees only what your club explicitly accepts into that project.
No. TidyHQ does not build draws, generate fixtures, publish ladders, score matches or appoint officials. For those, use a sports platform such as GameDay. TidyHQ runs memberships, events, payments, communications, volunteers and committee admin for the club.
GameDay sells self-service Customer Plans, launched in November 2025, billed monthly or annually and priced on its website in Australian and New Zealand dollars, pounds and euros; enterprise licences and competition management are quoted directly. Where a national or state body has signed with GameDay, its clubs and associations usually come onto the platform through that agreement. Check the pricing page at mygameday.app for current plan prices.
