The organisation
The Yinnar Football Netball Club — the Magpies — was established in 1884 and competes in the Mid Gippsland Football Netball League. Based in the small Latrobe Valley township of Yinnar (population ~900), the club now fields seven football and twelve netball teams, plus Auskick and Net Set Go pathways. Yinnar holds the MGFL record with 13 senior football premierships. The club also became the first regional grassroots organisation to join the Sports Environment Alliance.
The challenge
Running a 140-year-old country club in a town of 900 people means the volunteer committee manages everything from Auskick registrations through to senior football and netball squads — 30 distinct membership levels in total.
