The organisation
The Victorian Perioperative Nurses Group (VPNG) was founded in July 1957 as the Theatre Sisters Section of the Royal Victorian College of Nurses. In 2016, VPNG incorporated as a company and received charitable status. Today, it is the peak professional body for perioperative nurses in Victoria, aligned with the Australian College of Perioperative Nurses (ACORN). VPNG runs state conferences, country conferences, introductory courses in surgical nursing, webinars, and a podcast.
