South Barwon Football & Netball Club — the Swans — was formed in 1990 when the Belmont Football Club and Barwon Football Club merged. The Barwon club's lineage stretches to 1859, making it one of the oldest football traditions in Victoria. Competing in the Geelong Football Netball League out of McDonald Reserve in Belmont, South Barwon has won eight premierships since 2001. The club expanded to include netball in 2000 and women's football in 2017, and is now one of the largest clubs in country Victoria.

Running one of the biggest clubs in regional Victoria means managing registrations across senior men's football, women's football, netball from under-11s through A-grade, and junior development programmes. Thirty-two membership tiers cover players, coaches, social members, life members, and sponsors.
