Anglesea Football Netball Club
“Where Patrick Dangerfield started in juniors, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard sponsor the women's team, and the kangaroos on the golf course outnumber the year-round residents.”

The organisation
The Anglesea Football Netball Club — the Kangaroos — has been the sporting heart of this Great Ocean Road town since 1963. Four senior premierships (1983, 1991, 1999, 2025). Patrick Dangerfield, a Brownlow Medallist and Geelong premiership captain, played his junior football here. So did Stu Mackenzie, frontman of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, who captained the 2004 junior team alongside 14-year-old Dangerfield before an ACL injury redirected him toward music.
The challenge
Anglesea's permanent population sits around 2,500. In summer, it swells to 10,000. That seasonal rhythm creates a unique membership challenge: 38 levels covering year-round locals, summer returnees, and families who holiday in Anglesea every year. The women's team's King Gizzard sponsorship generated international guernsey requests.
How TidyHQ helped
TidyHQ manages the Roos' 38 membership levels. Mailchimp segments communications so winter training updates go to players and summer invitations reach the holiday crowd. Zoom-integrated meetings keep committee governance running. The shop handles merchandise including King Gizzard-branded guernseys. Event scheduling coordinates match days and community events.
The outcome
Since implementing TidyHQ, Anglesea Football Netball Club has fundamentally changed how they operate.
- 38 — membership levels for a town of 2,500
- 3+ — years running on TidyHQ
- 4 — senior premierships, most recently 2025
Members renew online and register for events through the same platform. The committee spends less time on logistics and more time building the community.
